Writing Sites

I can't say enough about the internet's impact on my writing. Good information on craft, business, and the pleasures of writing is available all over. Here're some of my favorite sites:

Agent Sites

Before stumbling onto Miss Snark, I don't think I really understood what agents do for an author. Here're some of the best agent blogs and sites I've found:

  • Miss Snark (retired) -- The agent blog that started it all off for me. Retired now, but the snarkives are still a valuable asset.
  • Nathan Bransford -- Nathan is extremely funny and entertaining to read. Great in-depth publishing info, along with solid agent-seeking advice.
  • The Rejector -- Anonymous agent's assistant blog, lays into writers' foibles ferociously.
  • LIT SOUP -- Excellent agenting advice from Jenny Rappaport, along with plenty of glimpses of what a day in the life of an agent is like.
  • Pub Rants -- Agent Kristin gives insight into the world of queries, writers, and publishing. Also an inspiration for her regular, near-daily blogging schedule!
  • Agent in the Middle -- Lori Perkins dishes out industry news, and lots about the process of being an agent.
  • Preditors & Editors -- Valuable site for checking on scam publishers, a bane on new writers everywhere.

Author Blogs

Too few of my favorite authors keep regular blogs, but here're a couple. Top of my aggregator, I'll tell you that!
